Leading and managing Children’s Services in England: a national professional development framework
The framework for leaders and managers of children’s services in England ‘sets out the knowledge, skills and behaviours required of leaders of children’s services. It is aimed primarily at senior strategic leaders in local authority children’s services (including Directors of Children’s Services and their management teams), but is relevant to all leaders and managers who aspire to these senior positions, including those who work in the private, voluntary and independent sectors. The framework has been designed so that pathways to progression can easily be identified and the core competences needed by leaders of the system can be shared and understood’:
