General Secretary election

Following the close of the ballot on 25 July, the result of the election for General Secretary was declared on 27 July 2012. Both candidates are members of Voice. 

Deborah Lawson: 1,747 votes
Ian Toone: 1,286 votes

Deborah Lawson is therefore elected as General Secretary of Voice.

Deborah Lawson is currently Commissioning Manager: Childcare Market with Gloucestershire County Council’s Early Childhood Services Team. A member of Voice’s National Council, she was the union’s National Chairman 2006/2007.

She will take up office as soon as possible.

Electoral Reform Ballot Services Ltd of Clarendon Road, London, is the independent scrutineer for this election.
