Voice Scotland survey on the Scottish Government’s Education Governance Review

The Scottish Government have stated their intention that the improvement of the education and life chances of our children is their defining mission. Against this backdrop, Scottish Government have recently launched their Scottish Education Governance Review, which encompasses early learning and childcare and school education.

The Governance Review makes certain presumptions with regards to any new structure. It is stated within the consultation paperwork that Scottish Government remain committed to the principle of publicly-funded school education for all. However, the Review is based upon the premise that decisions about children’s learning and school life should be taken within schools themselves, supported by parents and local communities. The Review also seeks to explore the possibility of new educational regions.

Voice Scotland are engaging with Scottish Government in a number of ways on the subject of governance, including as a member of Scottish Government’s trade union engagement group.

The Governance Review consultation documentation can be accessed here

We are keen to hear your thoughts on the Governance Review. This survey will run until 5.00pm on Wednesday 30 November 2016.  Please note that it is not compulsory to answer all the questions.

We very much look forward to hearing your thoughts.

Take part in our survey on the Scottish Education Governance Review.
