Feeling stressed?
Understand yourself?
Now, move forward Conference
Date: Saturday 26 May 2012
Location: Park Inn Hotel, Manchester
Application forms are now available for this exciting conference in Manchester. The fun-packed day will give you practical solutions and advice on managing stress and time to help you achieve a work/life balance.
The speakers are practitioners and experts in their field. Speakers and seminars include:
The Tree of Knowledge – putting the fun back into the staff room through managing stress and your time.
Back Chat Explained - Posture, Voice and back ache - the effects stress can cause.
With TemperVox - Leon Trayman & Gemma Boaden - and Lorna Taylor, Lead Practitioner - Children First Physiotherapy
This practical session, facilitated by a chartered physiotherapist and vocal coach working within schools presents a fresh concept of voice and back health for education professionals. Focussing on staff, it gives delegates an insight into why and how they experience musculo-skeletal aches and pains (e.g. back, neck, shoulder, knee pain...) and voice strain.
The workshop will cover posture, voice care, ergonomics, key risk factors and implications of stress. Importantly, practical workable solutions will be discussed to help reduce and prevent injury in staff. These can be used by delegates and shared with colleagues.
Keynote speaker: Nick Gibb MP, Minister of State for Schools, DfE
The Luck Factor – by Professor Richard Wiseman, psychologist and member of the Magic Circle – a fun and interactive session that will explore why some people lead happy successful lives whilst others face repeated failure and sadness.
Junk Percussion – packed with fun and laughter, this seminar will enable participants to explore the techniques used in this energetic art form and feel the benefits of escaping the stress of the day.
