22 April marked Stephen Lawrence Day. Central to Stephen Lawrence Day is recognising the part we all play in creating environments in which everyone can flourish. More than 200 schools and thousands of children celebrated Stephen’s legacy. They took part in virtual assemblies, wrote poems, drew pictures and learned about creating a respectful and tolerant society. While Stephen’s story is challenging, the challenge of dealing with racism – subtly and sensitively – starts early.
