Letter to Education Secretary about exams

Letter to Gavin Williamson MP

While welcoming the return to school and full-time education in September, Voice members are increasingly concerned by the silence, lack of information and increasing speculation about GCSE and A level exams in 2021.

In particular, we are concerned about any changes that may be necessary and how they will impact on both curriculum content and catch-up teaching, not least because of the consequential impact that overloading pupils will have on their mental wellbeing and performance in exams.

Members also question the necessity and value of testing across other phases of education given the significant loss of teaching and learning time in the 2019/20 academic year.
